Background
Hello!
My name is Devon Lee, and I am a fourth-year Objects Conservation student at the Conservation Center of the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University. I am in the process of completing my capstone internships at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and the National Park Service, and in 2025 I will graduate with an M.S. in the Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works and an M.A. in the History of Art and Archaeology.
I grew up in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and after graduating from the University of Minnesota in 2017 with a B.F.A. in Studio Art (Drawing and Painting) and a B.A. in Art History, I moved to New York City to pursue a career in art conservation. I have chosen to specialize in the conservation of natural history collections and organic objects, with an additional focus on preventive conservation. I have always been drawn to the natural world, at times considering a career in scientific illustration, entomology, mycology, or astrophotography, and I am thrilled to work in a field that allows me to meld my passion for art, my great interest in art historical and scientific research, and my lifelong wonder of nature.
